Study in Denmark
Are you thinking about studying abroad in Denmark? Find out why you should , and what steps to take next , with our guide ... Located in the connection between the north and the west of Europe , Denmark may be a relatively small country, but it is a study destination heavyweight. Five of the eight universities of the country make the 400 right above the 2012/13 QS World University Rankings, with the University of Copenhagen, a leader in the 51 . Tuition is free for EU students and certainly not outrageously high for more distance, and many courses are taught in English (as in other Nordic countries, civil Danes generally speak very good English too). This proved to be a combination that the full extent of 15,807 and 8,678 exchange students could not lose in the academic year 2009-10 . And you could join them - just remember to bundle up ! Life in Denmark Vikings , Hamlet , existential angst (courtesy of Søren Kierkegaard ) - many of the things we associate with the nation are grim . However, a much more appropriate cultural ambassador for the modern nation is the world's most famous brand of the building blocks of bright colors. ( Yes , we're talking about Lego . ) Why? Well , Denmark is actually one of the happiest countries in the world . And there is much to be happy. It is a prosperous nation with high wealth equality, has some of the world's highest levels of press freedom and gender equality , and is rich in terms of art and culture. No wonder Danes have a word untranslatable sense of intimacy and satisfaction ( hygge ) . In recent years , Denmarks most famous cultural centers include the world famous music festival in Roskilde , Noma ( crowned the world's best restaurant for the past three consecutive years ) and successful television series The Killing .
