Study in Costa Rica

Beaches , tropical forests, the highly developed society and an enviable quality of life study in Costa Rica may sound too good to be true. In the 2012 QS University Rankings : Latin America, Costa Rica has only three universities in the top 250 in the region - are relatively few compared to countries like Brazil and Mexico . However, its main institution ranking, University of Costa Rica (UCR ) , comes in at a very respectable 29 , after increasing significantly from 59th in the rankings last year. UCR joined the 100 best in Latin America by the Costa Rica National University (also public) , and in the top 200 by the University of Science and Technology Costa Rica ( ULACIT ) , part of the private sector. Universities in Costa Rica There are over 60 universities to choose from in Costa Rica , five of which are public : • University of Costa Rica (UCR ) , • National University of Costa Rica , • State Open University ( for distance education ) , • Technological Institute of Costa Rica ( RERI ) • National Technical Universidal . Besides being highest ranking institution in Costa Rica , UCR is also the oldest university in the country and largest in terms of number of students enrolled. Meanwhile many private universities in Costa Rica include University of Science and Technology ( ULACIT ), University Fidelitas , Hispoamericana University , Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and the University Veritas .
